So, its over a year since I wrote my last journal here. There's a good reason I swear! Shortly after my last journal we moved into our own place. The plan to stretch my artistic muscles did not work out, I totally underestimated how much work the new place would be. There was no running water, no electricity and the previous tenants left a pile of trash. Then shortly after we moved in my boyfriend hurt himself at work and we had to deal with that, then after 3 months of Little house in the jungle the land lords kicked us out because they wanted their son to move in. It had nothing to do with us, we were sooo reassured, and we were welcome to build something on the property for our selves if we chose to stay. Fat chance.

Fortunetly I had been exchanging work at a neighboring farm so that we could charge our deep cycle batteries. You know so that when the BF got home from work we weren't having dinner in the dark. Which meant that even if I had been doing art I didn't have internet access or electricity good enough to post it with.

We've been at the farm for a year now, I'm just now feeling settled but with the holiday season here I don't expect to have much time for art. Especially with the opening of my already neglected etsy store and the BF being sick. The Doctors don't know whats wrong. So I hope to have some time to post work here and to my etsy shop but I'm not holding my breath. Mostly I'm letting everyone know that I'm alive and I haven't forgotten about you.

Holy Mac Jesus!! I posted that hey I'm coming back and then everything was turned on its head, we've been scrambling to survive. The good news, we will be in our own place in a week or two, The BF got a job that he's loving, and I'll have some time to do art. I recently became involved in the Hawaiian Sovereignty movement, now they've got me doing posters and logos! All volunteer work mind you, but with my craft job slowing down for the moment I have the time and no reason not to stretch my artistic muscles. Especially now that we aren't scrambling for an income. So there it is...

I've been gone for quite a while haven't I. Things have been busy and art really hasn't been at the top of my list lately but here I am. For some reason I'm always drawn back here, with some free time coming up I figured it was time to get back in touch with my artistic self and leave my work-my-ass-off-for-peanuts self behind for a bit. Feels good!
